Map description:
Although El Medano is well known world wide by surfers, the village still is not overcrowded. At the east and west of the village there are nice sand beaches and bays which are deserted - it is fabulous, like the beaches of Playa de las Tejitas and Ensenada Pelada. Kitesurfing in El Medano is very popular. Here you find a very beautiful marketplace with cafes, restaurants and shops of all kind. This market place is next to a flat beach which we recommend for children. In the west is the 3km long beach Playa del Medano which goes right to the Montana Roja, the "Red Mountain". It can be seen miles away in a red gleam. It is just right for sun bathing, surfing, for taking a walk or swimming in the sea. Incidentally there is a nudist beach behind the vulcano cone of Montana Roja.Distances:
